We are on a mission to make energy systems more efficient for our business partners and their customers. We have developed an “open” smart, connected IOT platform for energy markets. We describe our innovative approach as placing a digital canopy over residential energy systems. Knowledge from our integrated meter data collection, pre-payment, fault reporting and in home control services can be aggregated to create sustainable value from managing flexibility at the point of generation.
Our solutions consist of software that uses learnt behavior and predictive control to deliver reduced lifetime cost of asset ownership, improved IRR and lower cost to serve. Our services have been designed to integrate easily with your existing CRM, billing and workflow management systems.
Driving reform in energy markets
We use our strong relationships with industry and government to drive reform in the energy markets. While technology is key to enabling energy innovation, lobbying for change in regulatory policy in the capacity markets is essential if we are to provide a level playing field for approaches like demand side response (DSR) and energy storage.
Without explicit market mechanisms and target capacity goals, DSR will be unable to deliver best value for consumers and we passionately believe that these powerful schemes should be a permanent feature of the UK energy market. Only then will we realise our vision for a clean and affordable energy system and deliver a better deal for consumers.
Jim has 25 years of senior management experience in B2B Services. He was Managing Director of ADT Fire & Security and Rentokil Initial Fire Services and held senior finance, operational and project roles at Chubb Electronic Security. He has extensive experience of change management and profit improvement in multi-site service businesses delivering installation and field service solutions across a range of different environments. He is a Chartered Accountant and has a degree in Classics from Oxford University.
Fraser brings over 20 years of commercial technology consulting and development experience to Passiv. Most recently Fraser has held executive positions at a number of young organisations bringing innovative technology solutions to market. Fraser was a founding member of Paragon Software, one of the UK’s most successful technology startups, and was instrumental in building the company to be a world leader in mobile synchronisation.

Ian has over 20 years’ experience in the utilities sector delivering innovative technology and service solutions. He manages Passiv’s innovation projects and products, with a focus on extracting energy system value from flexible heat, power and transport solutions to support the net zero transition.
