The Passiv Smart Thermostat can control a heat pump via RS485 Modbus or relay. Control via RS485 Modbus is possible with many leading heat pump brands and delivers the best level of bill savings, including increasing the efficiency of a heat pump by 17%.
Control via relay is possible with all heat pump makes and models. With relay control, the Passiv Smart Thermostat will only control space heating and not hot water.
